Chapter 3: A Change of Mind

“You feel that?” – says the ArchGod of Empty
“Interesting.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom
“It seems like Gowan as fainted.” – he continues
“So, this means they actually manage to steal other’s powers like Urango theorized?” – says the ArchGod of Imagination, chained to the ground, completely incapacitated
“Indeed.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom, smiling
“Well then…” – says the ArchGod of Entropy as he approaches the cell.
Suddenly, the barrier that was keeping him trapped inside his cell collapsed, he was free now.
“If you do not mind, I’ll come to take what is mine later.” – he says as he opens a portal and flees, leaving the others behind.
    “Tch.
At the first glance he just breaks free and runs.
Pathetic.” – says the ArchGod of Light and Darkness
“Are you perhaps considering staying here?” – says the ArchGod of Empathy
The ArchGod of Light and Darkness puts one of his finger nails next to the barrier.
“No, not at all.” – he says, smiling, as the barrier banishes bit by bit.
“With Gowan dead…those barriers are useless.” – he says as he fires a enormous flash of light, completely breaking his cells.
He opens a portal, but before he flees…
“Would you mind?” – says the ArchGodess of Emotions
“Errr sure, why not?” – replies the ArchGod of Light and Darkness as he breaks those cells too.
“Just so we are clear here…
Once we step aside of this pocket dimension, it’s everyone by himself.” – he continues
Everyone agrees and they flee into the portal, leaving behind both the ArchGod of Wisdom and the ArchGodess of Imagination.
    After a brief moment…
“Aren’t you escaping too?” – asks the ArchGodess of Imagination
    “Perhaps, in a moment.
I would like to appreciate some inner peace now that they are gone.” – replies the ArchGod of Wisdom
“I understand.” – says the ArchGodess of Imagination
    “But…
You were never here to begin with, am I right?” – asks the ArchGod of Wisdom with his eyes closed.
“You know…when you are reality itself, it gets bored.
Real bored.” – replies the ArchGodess of Imagination
“Except that you are not reality.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom, laughing
    Awkward silence.
The ArchGod of Wisdom clears his throat.
    “Oh it was a joke.
I get it.” – says the ArchGodess of Imagination
“You’re bored too.” – she continues as she and her jail slowly disappear.
The ArchGod of Wisdom takes a deep breath.
    “Finally…
    You have come.
Juno.” – he says with a soft, calm voice.
Juno had just arrived, using one of his portals, right in front of the ArchGod’s jail.
“Quite a great timing there I must say.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom laughing.
“Where are the others?” – says Juno
    “Oh…not even a hi?
What about a hello?” – replies the ArchGod of Wisdom
    “They escaped…” – murmours Juno
    “As planned, right?
As you have planned all along.” – continues the ArchGod of Wisdom
“You are of no use either.” – says Juno as he turns his back to the ArchGod.
    “Quite the opposite.
You came here for a reason.
And perhaps, I shall grant you the solution of your problem.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom
    Juno turns back to him.
“Where did they go?” – he asks
“Why should I know?” – the ArchGod replies
“Because you are the only one here.” – Juno says
“Are you perhaps saying that I got rid of them?
My my…” – the ArchGod asks, laughing hard
“Like I said, you are of no use.” – says Juno, annoyed
“Yet, you came here to see me.” – says the ArchGod
    But Juno does not answer.
“Look!” – says the ArchGod as he puts his hands on the cells and takes them off.
    “I was freed all along!
    Ahah!” – he laughs
Juno is clearly annoyed by the ArchGod.
    “Oh come on…
Did you really believe I would be locked on a jail?
I was the one who jailed myself remember?! Ahah!” – the ArchGod says
“Where is Urango?” – asks Juno
    “Ah…see?
    Now you are talking.
    I do not know, though.
She has been missing for the last few centuries, and that is it.” – says the ArchGod
“So, you do not know either…” – replies Juno
“I am sorry boy.” – says the ArchGod
“But looking for Urango…should be the last of your worries.” – he continues
    “You mean…” – says Juno
    “Yes.
They too shall seek for your power…
Powers, actually.” – says the ArchGod
    Juno says nothing.
“But…you are not worried about that.
    Right?
    Your face…
It is remorse you are facing.
After all, you killed the man who stood with you pretty much for your whole after life.
The pain you are feeling…” – says the ArchGod
“Gowan made his choice.” – interrupts Juno
“But did he?” – asks the ArchGod
    Juno’s eyes are wild opened.
    “I see.
You do not know it.” – says the ArchGod
    “Allow me to show you…
What really happened to your so long called best friend Gowan.” – he continues, as he activates his Godo-modo.

    [somewhere else]

Those who have assisted Garaam in the past are now free with Gowan’s death.
Everyone in the ArchGod Dimension can feel their presence.
With the recent discovering that the ArchGods can absorb each other’s powers by killing them…
“Don’t you think it is too dangerous to be wondering alone like that?
All defenseless?” – says a sudden voice coming behind the ArchGod of Entropy.
“Uh?” – he says as he turns around and realizes that the voice behind him is in fact, the ArchGodess of Vengeance.
“What do you…” – says the ArchGod of Entropy but gets interrupted as the ArchGodess of Vengeance quickly throws a spear against him.
The spear breaks just before it touches him.
The ArchGod of Entropy starts walking again, leaving the ArchGodess of Vengeance behind like it was nothing.
She multiplies into 4 and strikes him all at once, missing every single attack by some unnatural explanation, all except one, whom the spear itself turns to ashes as she not even moving yet.
“What…?!” – says the ArchGodess of Vengeace, confused.
    “Hey…
I do not have any interest on getting new powers.
    I am fine with mines.
But if you keep on messing with it you might get yourself into a bad situation.
Therefore, I shall have to take them from you too.” – he says, and starts walking again
The ArchGodess of Vengeance gets impatient.
And with a high scream, she says: “ Ah fuck it.
It is too late to go back anyway.
    Godo-Modo.”
She transforms into a spectral being, something that does not exist in the plan of physical objects.
The ArchGod of Entropy stops walking for a moment, he sighs.
She strikes into the ArchGod of Entropy with great speed.
The ground breaks, as her spectral form gets crushed and vanishes.
The ArchGod of Entropy continues walking, murmuring: “You are all the same.”

    [Somewhere else]
“And the king, has returned!” – says the ArchGod of Light and Darkness, as he sits in his throne in his land, surrounded by dark and light creatures, all cheering his return.
“What shall be our first duty, master?” – asks one of his creatures
    “First let us rest.
Then we shall reunite and get ourselves some new powers!” – he answers as he starts laughing along with his creatures.
The ArchGod of Empathy is there too.

    [somewhere else, inside Kaddo’s Godo-Modo]

    Sometime after Garaam’s defeat.
The ArchGods are gathered in the pillars of creation, discussing a quite particular subject.
“It can’t be, can it?!” – one of the ArchGods says as Urango is projecting some images from Garaam’s fight against Juno.
“I am sure it is.” – says Urango
The ArchGods are shocked by her statement.
“So…Juno has the power of void inside of him now…” – murmurs Gowan
    “It is very likely.
The power of an ArchGod cannot simply cease like that.” – answers Urango
“But…Juno doesn’t even have an artifact to hold a power, how could he absorb it?!” – asks Harkiles
“Well it can’t be the items you made, for Garaam broke those into little pieces.
There must be something with his wrists.” – answers Urango
    “Very well.
Then we shall take them from him and settle this.” – says Toffee
    “No!” – Shouts Gowan
“Even though this power does not belong to a Human, neither does the responsibility of carrying one, I…” – he gets interrupted
“Are you perhaps considering giving him Garaam’s duty?
We all saw where that led us.” – completes Urango
    “Hmpf.
Plus he is just a Human.
How idiot can you be to trust him like that!” – says Toffee
“Yeah he is still a Human after all..” – thinks Gowan, ashamed for shouting.
    “Now now…
Let us not forget the past.
He might be just a Human…
But he saved us all.” – says the ArchGod of Hope
The ArchGods start murmuring to each other’s.

    [Some more years later]
The ArchGods reunite again in the pillars of creation, the same subject.
“Has he manifested something out of ordinary, Gowan?” – asks Urango
“Not that I am aware of.
Just a Human still.” – answers Gowan
“Hmm…perhaps my theory is actually wrong…” – wonders Urango
    “Impossible.
Your reasons are clear and flawless!
It has to be with him!” – says the ArchGod of Elements
The ArchGods murmurs to each other’s.
    “Now now…
We don’t even know if my theory about the Powers is right.
We shall just wait and see.” – says Urango
    “Isn’t this useless though?
It has been centuries since Garaam died.
Yet reality hasn’t suffered a bit.
It’s like it didn’t matter at all!” – says the ArchGod of Melancholy
The ArchGods murmurs to each other’s again.
    “Silence Silence.” – says Urango
“It is in fact interesting that reality has not suffered any consequences from the lost of the power of Void.” – says Urango
“That can only mean on thing, don’t you agree?” – says the ArchGod of Elements
But none seems to understand his point.
“He has been using the stolen power to fulfil the Reality needs, of course.” – he continues
    “Don’t be silly!
I have spent every single day with Juno by my side since Garaam’s defeat and yet I have never witness him using any kind of Godly power or Void power as you are assuming he has!” - says Gowan
    “he is right.
There is no prove that Juno has even a power.” – says Urango
“It was just a thought.” – says the ArchGod of Elements
“Well if he really has that Power, then we shall give him two options:
    He either gives it back
Or we shall take it back.” – says Urango

    [Later that day]

    “Well...I should be going now.
I still have to pay a visit to Drowze.” – Says Gowan while getting up
    “The ArchGod of the Elements?
    Why for?” – asks Juno
“Well, let’s just say that he owns me a drink! Ahah!” – says Gowan as he gets out to Juno’s home.
Juno waves as he gets out.
Gowan opens a portal and walks through it, arriving at the ArchGod of Elements’ palace.
However, it seems like that ArchGod of Elements is not home.
Instead, he is received by his subordinates.
They offer him food and water, along with some amusement.
It was the perfect night indeed.
However, the sudden missing of the ArchGod, whoam had invited him to come, bothers Gowan a lot.
“Eheh one more! One more cup for Gowan! Eheh!” – says one of the ArchGod of Elements’ subordinates
    But Gowan stops him.
“Eh?” – says the Subordinate, surprised
“I have had enough, thank you for your kind.” – says Gowan has he gets up from his sit.
    “Ah? Already?
But there is still plenty of amusement awaiting you Gowan!” – says the Subordinate
    Gowan sighs.
“I came to pay a visit to your ArchGod…
It is time for me to head home now.” – says Gowan as he opens a portal.
Another of the ArchGod of Elements’ subordinates comes closer to the other one.
“Pst. Do you think he took care of that Human yet?” – says one, murmuring
    Gowan hears.
    “Took what?
What do you mean?!” – says Gowan with a shocking, aggressive voice.
    The subordinates tremble.
“We….uh…I mean…uh…” – they are too afraid to even make up a sentence
    “Don’t tell me that…
    No!
No!!!” – screams Gowan has he quickly runs through the portal.
    [Next to Juno’s home]
“In just a second, my subordinates shall come back with Juno, near dead.” – says the ArchGod of Elements, laughing
“Yeah yeah…you don’t have to tell me your plan, I already know…” – murmurs one of his subordinates who was left behind with him.
“What?!” – says the ArchGod of Elements with a rather angry voice.
“N-n-n-n-nothing! I said it was a good plan indeed! Eheh!” – says the subordinate, scared.
Suddenly, four corpses fall next to them, surprising them.
    “Tho-those are…!” – says the subordinate, paralyzed
The ArchGod ignores the corpses of his dead subordinates and looks up to the sky.
“I never thought you would be capable of such thing, ArchGod of Elements” – says Gowan, looking down
    The ArchGod of Elements smiles.
“Are you mad?!” – shouts Gowan
    “Oh, I am very sane.
As much as you, I suppose.” – answers the ArchGod of Elements with a smile.
His subordinate runs, hiding himself, trembling in fear.
“I should have acted soon…” – whispers Gowan
    “Acted?
    Do you perhaps mean…
That you are disposed to fight one of your kind…
For that Human?!” – says The ArchGod of Elements
“It is still time for you to get back to your palace.
I won’t tell the others about this incident.” – says Gowan
    “Yeah…you do that.
While I won’t tolerate this no longer.
I can’t let that Human keep Garaam’s power like it was nothing!” – says the ArchGod of Elements has he grabs his sphere.
    The sphere starts sparkling.
    “stop!” – shouts Gowan
“oh…I wish this could be stopped.” – says The ArchGod of Elements, as a beam of immense energy strikes from the sphere, directed to Juno’s home at the speed of light.
However, it seems like the attack has no effect.
    “Uh?
Oh…of course, a barrier.” – says The ArchGod of Elements, relived
“that also explains why my subordinates were taking so long to act…” – he continues
“Ruthless…” – says Gowan, has he stands now face to face with the ArchGod of Elements.
“You even attempt to use your true power against him…using that artifact of yours!” – says Gowan
    “Oh?
This isn’t really for him.” – answers the ArchGod of Elements, smirking
“Wha-what?!” – says Gowan, as a hole appears on his chest, made by a thunderbolt that had pierced him.
Gowan, infuriated, quickly grabs the ArchGod of Elements’ right arm (the one holding the sphere), with all his strength.
“nah ahm.” – says the ArchGod of Elements, with his left hand open, near Gowan’s face.
    “scintilla” (=scintillation)
An enormous flash of light comes out of his hand, completely blinding Gowan and pushing him back.
Gowan quickly recovers his posture, however, he is unable to use his eyes to see his surroundings.
    “My target…
    Is actually you.
Gowan.” – says the ArchGod of Elements, laughing.
“What?!” – says Gowan, trying to find the source of his voice.
Suddenly, the ArchGod of Elements creates copys of himself, each from each element he owns.
They start attacking Gowan, using an elemental beam representing each of their elements.
The poor ArchGod finds himself defenseless against the ArchGod of Elements.
“How much longer can you take those hits Gowan?! Ahah!” – laughs the ArchGod of Elements
    “Juno…
I cannot let him…” – murmurs Gowan as he is near exhaustion.
Gowan revisits his past, he rematches his experiences he had with Juno, from his arrival, to this very moment.
An immense amount of energy sparks outside of his body, as a tear comes out of his blinded eyes.
“Ah?” – says the ArchGod of Elements
“Oh no! Such energy! Master let us get away asap!” – shouts the subordinate
    “Nonsense.
He is just showing his true power, that’s all.” – answers the ArchGod of Elements, confident
    “Godo-Modo” – shouts Gowan
His clothes turn pure golden, so does his skin.
His blind eyes are now glowing gold, he is no longer blind.
A barrier appears surrounding him, reflecting the attacks throwed by the ArchGod of Elements’ copies.
    “Well…
It shall only be fair if I too show my true power, am I right?” – says the ArchGod of Elements, smirking.
    But Gowan does not answer.
    “Very well.” – he continues
    “Godo-modo” – he says
The sphere he was holding immediately breaks, as every single element contained inside of it mix together.
From that moment on, the sky was covered by fog.
But the majestic glow coming from Gowan’s body was big enough to illuminate a part of the surroundings.
There he was, the ArchGod of Elements had shown his true form.
A glow-like, Dragon-like being, colored with every single imaginable color.
    “behold, Gowan, my ultimate form!
With the power of the Elements mixed together, this is a fight no more!” – says the ArchGod of Elements.

    [back to the present]
“And so the real fight begun.” – says The ArchGod of Wisdom
“So Gowan defended me…” – murmurs Juno
    “Sort of.
I think you could say it was fate, that those two would fight over you.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom
“What else aren’t you telling me?” – says Juno
    “Oh?
    Hm…
Everything.” – replies the ArchGod of Wisdom, getting Juno’s complete attention
    “Truth can be tricky sometimes.
This is no exception, however, I am well aware that you too already know it, or am I wrong, Juno?” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom
But Juno does not answer him.
    “Very well…
    But keep in mind!
Truth can be both a totem and a curse.
    But…
I suppose you know that too.
Afterall, that is the real reason why you came to talk to me in the first place, from all the other Gods, you choose to come talk to me.” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom, laughing
“What do you mean by that?” – asks Juno
    “What do you think?
The ArchGod of Elements is dead.
The ArchGod of Serenity is also dead.
One wanted justice towards you, the other, was your right hand.
Don’t you think it is quite interesting that those two, from all other possibilities, are both dead now?” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom.
Juno is shocked, for he understood what his words meant.
    “You are now a target.
Of course, you and I know the truth.
    But as I said…
The truth is tricky.” – continues the ArchGod of Wisdom
“They cannot possibly think of me that way…” – says Juno
“Friendly advice boy, you have lived among us for long enough to understand that we neither care of could care less about whatever happens outside of our comfortable-sphere.
If it doesn’t bother reality, it won’t bother us.
And at this time, you are a problem.
The conclusion seems pretty obvious here, don’t you agree?” – says the ArchGod of Wisdom
Juno thinks for a moment, before replying.
“Well…in fact it was just an accident.
Gowan had defeated the ArchGod of Elements, however, he had not killed him.
No, it was just an accident.
For the ArchGod of Elements could not accept defeat to his belong brother.
He sneaks attacked him, forcing Gowan to counter him, cutting his chest in half…
    But that’s not everything!
    No.
A simple cut wouldn’t do it.
He had triggered Gowan’s rage, and so, at that crucial moment, Gowan accidently went too far with his counter-attack, and that, resulted on the ArchGod of Elements death.
Gowan was shocked, paralyzed by the atrocity he had committed.
The ArchGod of Elements, on the other hand, smiled, and with his last breath, he said…

Now I shall be a part of you.
You and I…shall make the difference!

And so it happened, Gowan got the Power of the ArchGod of Elements.
Unfortunately for him, that very experience, along with his murderous act, whom goes completely against his own morality, made him go insane.
Aaaaaaaand you know what happened next.
No need to say, you too killed him.” – explains The ArchGod of Wisdom
    Juno takes a deep breath.
“Where are the escaped ArchGods?” – asks Juno
“You think that would make them trust you back?
Kid, even if that would do it…
You are not talking about some vanilla beings like the ones you used to hang with.
    Those escapists were with Garaam.
They do not care about you neither the system.
They will, mostly, enjoy torturing the one who’s responsible for their imprisoning.” – answers The ArchGod of Wisdom
    “I know that very well.
Now, where are they?” – asks Juno
    The ArchGod of Wisdom smirks.
    [A brief moment later]
    Juno opens a portal.
But as he is about to step upon it, the ArchGod of Wisdom stops him to say one last thing:
    “Before you go…
You should probably know the real reason why you came to see me…
Urango entrusted me to tell you the whole truth, so I thought it was fitting for you to only know it as you were about to leave.
You know, as a motivational thing.
    Your arrival to our world…
    It was on purpose…”
“I know.” – says Juno, with a cold voice
    “You…you know?!
    Oh dear…
    Wooof.
    What a relief!
Now I don’t have to tell you anything about our master plan! Ahah!” – awkwardly laughs The ArchGod of Wisdom
“It was obvious as I got to meet you all.” – says Juno as he finally steps upon the portal, leaving the pocket dimension.
And so, Juno went back to the world of the ArchGods, seeking for those who had escaped the prison after Gowan’s dead.

[Somewhere else, on an icy land]
Juno is walking in the snow, heading towards the palace of the ArchGod of Darkness/Lightness, who shall be the first on his escapist list.
“oh oh oh oh oh oh
If it ain’t that Huuuuuuuuman!” – says an echoed voice
Juno stops walking, he tries to find the source of that voice.
“It is pointless, you cannot see me.
For a I do not possess a form.” – says the voice
    “…
So you are…?” – asks Juno
    “Yes. Indeed.
It is I, the ArchGod of Imagination!
The one and the almighty!” – shouts the voice
“Sure.” – says Juno as he starts walking again.
    “UH? Surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre?!
What do you mean by that?” – says the voice
“It means I’ll leave you for the end.” – says Juno
    “The…end?!
How dare you leave ME to the end?!” – cries the voice, as everything starts trembling.
    “Calm down.
I’m just saying I don’t care about you yet.” – continues Juno
    “WHAT?!
    ARE YOU MOCKING ME?
HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!!??!!” – cries the voice, even lauder
“Not at all…” – replies Juno, trying to keep equilibrium.
    “Oh…ooohhh I see…
You think you are too smart uh?
Well Guess what!” – says the voice, calming down, as everything else also calms down.
    “You are nothing to me.
    And shall never be!
    For I am everything!
And you are nothing but a Human!
    In fact…
    Yes!
In fact you are nothing more than just an Ant to me!” – shouts the voice
And so it happens, Juno’s human body suddenly morphs into the one of a minuscule ant.
    “See?!
Now that is fitting!” – says the voice

    End of chapter 3.
